AJMER: The
Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) is yet to cancel the results of interviews of the sub-inspector and platoon commander exam 2021 taken by the board, headed by member Babulal Katara.
Katara, who headed the interview board till April 17, was arrested by the SOG on Tuesday for leaking question papers of the examination to select senior school teachers.
The interviews, which started on January 23, are still going on. RPSC secretary Harji Lal Atal said a decision would be taken by RPSC chairman Sanjay Kumar Shrotriya.
With the arrest of Katara, candidates are in a dilemma over whether the RPSC would interview them again. "How is it possible for the member, who has been arrested in the paper leak case, to be impartial during the interviews," a candidate asked. "It is possible that Katara favoured someone and that may reflect on the results," another alleged.
"Once the results are out, those who fail to clear the interview will take up the issue of the interview board headed by Katara," another candidate said. The seventh round of interviews was completed last Saturday. One candidate said that his interview was good but was not confident if the RPSC would select him based on his performance.
Katara's link with paper leak mafia led to inferences of deals on interviews "The credibility of RPSC got tarnished when its member was arrested over the allegation of paper leak," said another candidate who has been preparing for this exam for the past three years.
Information coming out on Katara and his link with the paper leak mafia leads to inferences of deals on interviews.
This should also be investigated by the SOG, candidates demanded.
The RPSC declared the result of the sub-inspector and platoon commander exam for the Rajasthan police on April 11, 2022. Some 3,291 candidates were declared eligible for the written exam conducted from December 13 to 15, 2021.
Eligible candidates were then called for a physical test from February 12 to 18, 2023 in Ajmer. Later, from January 23, 1,738 candidates were interviewed from the first to fifth phase.
